Pictured above is the “Madeline’s Christmas” crew! Alex, Luke, Mark, Elizabeth, Courtney, Anita, Lizzy, Maria and Ian. Not picutred is Erin.
“Madeline’s Christmas” opened last Friday to rave reviews! The directors and performers worked hard to make this show a success. But a lot of the credit goes to the unsung heroes of theatre THE BACKSTAGE CREW!
The responsibility’s of the crew begin after the set is moved in. Among many other things the crew is responsible for running the light board, moving set pieces, operating the fly system and cleaning the stage. The crew reports to the Stage Manager (the Madeline’s Christmas stage manager is Courtney, the one hiding in the picture above). Once the show moves over to the Paramount the Stage Manager takes over for the Director. The Director still manages the artistic vision and gives notes on acting and technical elements but the Stage Manager is in charge of making sure those notes get done.
“Madeline’s Christmas” is double cast so the actors only come to half the performances, however, there is only one crew and they are there for every show!
Thanks to the “Madeline’s Christmas” crew for making the show run smoothly!
