Hector Edwardo Chavarria plays Marcus Lycus. Lycus is the purveyor of courtesans who lives next to Senex. He gets tricked by Pseudolus into beliving that Philia has the plague and so he gets her out of the house and puts her in Pseudolus’ care. Then when Miles Gloriosus comes to claim her Pseudolus pretends to be Lycus so he can carry out his plan and gain his freedom.
Hector is making his GREAT debut with “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.”
What is your favorite thing about playing Lycus? Hector: Marcus Lycus is very out going and free spirited. He is a fun character to play. I am open to be as creative as I please. He is out of this world.
If you had to describe this show in one word, what would it be? Hector: Fabulous!
Trivia: Lycus gets his name from a character in Plautus’ play, Poenulus. The Lycus in Plautus’ play does the same job and also gets tricked by a slave.

Hector, as Lycus, prepares himself to introduce the courtesans.
