Kallie Feeny (1st time with GREAT) plays Tintinabula, Barbara Banaian (Music Man, Charlotte’s Web) plays Panacea, Brittany Bokovoy (Kelsi in HSM2) and Courtney Bokovoy (The Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz - together they were Thing 1&2 in Seussical) play The Geminae, Jessica Fleck (Mrs. Darling in Peter Pan) plays Vibrata and Dawn Malard (Pollyanna) plays Gymnasia.
Throughout the show you will find these six women swooning over soldiers, participating in wild/seductive dances, mourning the death of one of their own and upping the overall aesthetics of the cast.
What is your favorite scene or song? Kallie: The opening scene with everyone. The protean’s funny acts get everyone laughing. Courtney: The House of Marcus Lycus scene because we each get to dance a solo in a different style.
What is your favorite part about playing a courtesan: Barbara: It’s a unique experience for me and an opportunity to channel my exotic inner dancer. Brittany: The great part about playing a courtesan is being able to do things I would never be able to do normally such as man handle a fellow actor and dance flirtatiously. Jessica: Getting to dance and getting sexy lessons from Britta. Dawn: Completely outside my comfort zone so I stretch myself as an actress.
What will the audience love about this show? Kallie: It really keeps you on your toes with what they might say next. Brittany: There is so much humor packed into such a short period of time and there is never a dull moment. Dawn: Nothing is off limits.
Trivia: Tintinabula is latin for ‘Bell’, Panacea is latin for ‘Cure-all’, Panacea is also the Greek goddess of healing, A Gymnasia is were the Greeks would train for their competitions, and is of course, where we get the word gymnasium. But did you know that the word is derived from two words: one meaning “to do physical excercise” and one meaning “naked.” Yes those cazy Greeks liked to excercise in the nude.

Above: The courtesans strike vocational attitudes.
