Description: Gleeful audiences flocked to see this show in Chicago (where it became that city’s longest running show), in Philadelphia (where it broke attendance records during its two runs) and in cities across the country. Focusing on eight students during their Catholic education in the 1950s, it captures the funniest aspects of youthful growing pains and the trying moments of adolescence. Every number tickles the funny bone of anyone who ever went to school, public or private.

Character List:
Eddie Ryan-student at St. Bastion’s and St Patrick Bremmer Catholic school. A boy with a good heart, and honest intentions, but teased for being a little slow on the uptake.
Becky Bakowski- student at St. Bastion’s and St. Anne’s Catholic school. A girl with a goo d heart and honest intentions, and teased about her weight.
Virginia Lear—classmate of Becky’s.
Felix Lindor- classmate of Eddie’s. Devoted student.
Mike Depki-classmate and close friend of Eddie’s. Idolizes his older brother.
Nancy Ralansky- classmate of Becky’s. Beautiful and popular.
Mary Kenny- classmate of Becky’s. Studious and devoted student for the attention it provides her.
Louie Schlang-classmate of Eddie’s. More focused on himself , and the imagined world he creates.
Sister Helen-a nun and also long time staple on the teaching staff at St. Bastion’s—almost as long as Sister Lee. Loves to teach and loves kids. Devoted to the Catholic faith.
Sister Lee-a nun and long time staple on the teaching staff at St. Bastion’s. Loves to teach and loves kids. Eventually promoted to school Principal. Devoted to the Catholic faith.
Sister Monica Marie- a nun more recently on staff as a teacher at St. Bastion’s.
Sister Melanie- a nun on staff as a teacher at St. Bastion’s.
Father O’ Reilly- long time pastor at St. Bastion’s. Devoted to the Catholic faith.
Secretary-a long time staff member at St. Bastion’s
