In November of 2009 GREAT kicked off our Inagural Broadway Musical season with the Minnesota Community Premiere of RENT directed by Andrew Rasmussen and musical direction by Jeff Engholm.  While the production pushed the content appropriateness button for many audience members, others were enthralled —and love it or hate it— it was awe inspiring musical theatre.  Musical theatre that moved us, made us talk and made us feel.  Just last week the director Andrew (after raising over a hundred thousand dollars in investors) opened the production at the LAB THEATRE in Minneapolis with the set and props from GREAT and many of the same cast members to RAVE REVIEWS.  All the review are available at http://www.rentminneapolislive.com/reviews/ but of course my favorites are the one’s that mention GREAT Theatre.  And of course, in the cities everything costs much more so you’ll pay $46.50 while GREAT was only $22… both are still great values for a truly moving show.
